What is a BioModel?

...is a term used in the VCell simulation framework. More info on VCell can be found on the VirtualCellPage

It consists of the “Physiology” and one or more “Applications” . The Physiology is a conceptual representation of the model: structures, molecules, connectivity map, kinetics. An Application contains information for the virtual experiments that can be simulated: initial conditions, actual morphologies, electrical protocols, etc.. An Application can be compartmental or it can use a Geometry. The BioModel has a mathematical representation that is automatically generated for the user and can be viewed.
